First of all, let me clear to you the fact that I love the ASUS when it comes to laptops as they are the only brand in the industry as of now that offers great specifications at a reasonable price range but this time I gambled on Acer with its new Aspire A515-51G-5072 laptop because it has directed my mind towards it due to specs like core i5 8gen, Mx 150 2 GB Graphics so I chose to give it a shot and bought it from Acer Exclusive Store and I have been using it from past 2 weeks so here is our detailed review of the Aspire A515-51G-5072 laptop from Acer so Let’s get right into it.

If you like our review then do not forget to share it with your friends or relatives in case they want to buy a new laptop!

Design And Build Of Acer aspire a515-51g-5072

The Laptop does look premium especially the black colour variant, but the back of the laptop is spite of plasticky in nature, looks good due to the beautiful texture with silver coloured Acer Logo at the centre.

The lid can also tilt all the way back, to 180 degrees so that you can adjust as per your needs.

There are a good number of ports available on the laptop, It has two USB 3.0 and one USB 2.0 port along with a First gen USB type-C that we generally not see in a laptop that comes in this price range, Ethernet, HDMI and an SD card slot and an audio 3.5mm jack is present on the right side of the laptop.

Display Of Acer Aspire A515-51G-5072

The only area where I feel Acer should have improved is the display, the viewing angles are below average while it retains good contrast and the colour reproduction is also pretty decent.

It has a Full HD 1080p panel measuring 1920 x 1080 pixels, The screen is matte finish (Anti-Glare ) to eliminate the reflections and is good to have an anti-glare screen that should be more pleasant to view the display and reduces eyestrain.

After your first boot, you will notice that the colours on the display are undersaturated and it looks a bit washed out but here is a simple fix: open your Intel HD graphics panel and tweak colour profiles that suits you and that’s it!

Performance Of Acer Aspire A515-51G-5072

Under the hood, There is the latest 8 gen Intel Core i5 quad-core processor based on the Kaby Lake Refresh architecture that is clocked up to 3.4 GHz along with a cache memory of 6MB.

There is a processor integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 along with a discrete Nvidia’s MX150 with 2 GB of DDR5 memory that is a better replacement for ageing 940MX and is capable of running Many latest titles at Stable 60FPS at medium to high settings.

The Games Like GTA V and Resident Evil 7 ran very well but Outlast 2 did struggle a bit in my testing but 99% of the time game was super smooth.NFS Payback faced serious lag in very high settings, so as per the gaming part is concerned you have got the idea about the gaming performance of this laptop.

The Laptop is coupled with 8GB DDR4 Ram and can be upgraded up to 32 GB RAM.

There is also an M2 SSD slot in which you can install an SSD that will surely improve your booting time and also the overall performance will get a boost of almost 30%.

The GPU MX 150 will be inactive when an application is not using it so that your laptop runs cooler and gives you better battery life, coming to the battery life, it is pretty good on the laptop as it has a 4-cell battery that can provide approx 5 hours of usage easily.

The Keyboard is of very good quality, being a blogger typing experience is really awesome on the device, the key travel is also less that means faster input to the keyboard, The keyboard is also backlit that makes typing a hell easy in dark environments or no light situations.

Other Features Of Acer Aspire A515-51G-5072

The trackpad of this laptop supports multi-gesture and it is working perfectly fine. There is a silver border around the trackpad that gives a premium look to it.

Audio Quality is below average, it lacks bass and the volume tends to lose the clarity at higher volume levels, as the time passes you should feel comfortable with the sound output.

The HD Web Camera is of average quality, there are soft edges and colours look washed out but still, it is better to have something than nothing. The playback is smooth and there are no jitters or stutters in the view frame.
